The Times Managing Editor briefs the Public Today

Popular Journalist Salieu Tejan Jalloh who doubles as the Managing Editor of The Times SL Newspaper will today give a comprehensive account on the matter between himself and the Chief Minister of the Government of Sierra Leone, Professor David Francis a Legal Link media advisory circulated yesterday has confirmed.

Journalist Salieu was recently ambushed around Circular road by some unknown persons that were later identified as Police Officers who arrested him after verbal interrogation on the eve of Sunday and was detained until November 12 when he was granted bail from police custody.

According findings, Journalist Salieu Tejan Jalloh was arrested after he (Salieu Tejan Jalloh) sent an SMS to the Chief Minister, Professor David Francis on request to enquire about an alleged payment from Sierra Leone Mining into his (Chief Minister) private account. This enquire latest response was a police ambushed arrest on me that was fueled by orders from above Journalist Jalloh said on a local network.

His arrest has however, led to a lot of clarion calls and condemnations from the Sierra Leone association of Journalist Association (SLAJ), and other groups. His arrest has been seen by many as deceptive in a time like this when SLAJ, MRCG, IMC, and Government of Sierra Leone are hopefully of seeing a true replica of best practices that will promote press freedom in the country wherein Journalists and other persons in Sierra Leone will not be criminalized for speaking the truth to power and standing for the voiceless voices to be heard.

Meanwhile Journalist Salieu Tejan Jalloh together with Legal Link will give full account and their position on the said matter respectively later today, November, 15 at 3:00pm at the SLAJ Head Office situated at 56 Campbell Street, Freetown engage pressmen and the general public.

Sierra Leone, Two other Nations disqualified from AFCON 2024 U17 Qualifiers
