SLPP runs the risk of political fragmentation in Bombali District

The political marriage between Paopa and the Alpha Timbo squad in Bombali District is at low ebb with a very obvious risk of disintegration if immediate corrective measures are not taken by the overall leadership of the party.

Supporters of Alpha Timbo are accusing the Resident Minister North East, Hon. Abu Abu Koroma, of sidelining them in most governance activities and at the same time abandoned them in the wilderness.

It was also revealed to this medium that the Resident Minister has deliberately refused to visit the party office because he perceived the office as being over populated by Alpha Timbo sympathizers. Attempted efforts at resolving this politically undesirable state has proven futile.

In an interview with the Sierra Leone People’s Party Chairman Bombali District, Alhaji Mohamed Mugamgbo Saffa, confirmed that the party is trying to resolve all political hiccups before going to the party convention because the heads of these groups are brothers who are willing to served His Excellency the President Dr. Julius Maada Bio and therefore party rivalries are not considered.

It could be recalled that during the last convention that paved the way for the Sierra Leone People’s Party to come into governance, Hon Alpha Timbo group defeated the Paopa group in Bombali District and much was expected.

Today, this group is said to be politically sidelined and, in fact, the Paopa group has positioned itself to take over all party executive positions in Bombali District in the next convention.
