Al-Mahdi Apparel Technology Inc Donates Face Masks To SLAJ



The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) is pleased to receive a donation of 100 specially made face masks today from the Al-Mahdi Apparel Technology Inc as their humble support to the SLAJ ‘Wear A Mask’ campaign.


According to the Chief Executive Officer of Al-Mahdi Apparel, Mr. Mahdi Kallon, the masks were produced with caution in line with the intended purpose and well packaged as a further protection from the virus.


“This quantity may be small, but it’s the quality and fit for purpose that matters,” said Kallon, and called on the public not to use masks just for the sake of it but to use them properly with the intended purpose in mind always.

Receiving the masks, the President of SLAJ Ahmed Sahid Nasralla, thanked CEO Kallon and his team for what he describes as a ‘timely gesture’, coming immediately after the Association launched the ‘Wear A Mask’ campaign.

“On behalf of my Executive and the entire membership of SLAJ, I say thank you to Al-Mahdi Apparel Technology Inc. We appreciate this. The mask up campaign is for our collective protection as a people and it goes together with other preventive measures. We look forward to more donations from other well-meaning organisations,” said Nasralla.

Disturbing snail space Civil works in the Makeni Central Lorry park

By: Ibrahim Jalloh - (Jallomy) The Makeni City Council (MCC) ordered commercial vehicles and business entities to leave the park area for the purpose of upgrading the park. Two weeks were given as the duration of the work. Regrettably, a week plus few days have elapsed with no significant work done. Drivers and business people in the park are completely frustrated and their livelihoods threatened.  Few years ago, drivers and traders were asked out of the park for similar reason but after two weeks they were asked to return to the park with no work done. This was disrespectful and insulting.  We urge MCC to double their efforts as the affected persons are running out of patience.
