A batch of Students from the Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology (EBKUST) Makeni Campus led by Madam Zainab Hannah Sankoh on Saturday 31st October 2020 held a historic event at the party’s Northern Regional office situated at Kamal Street in Makeni Bombali district, to mark the establishment and official launching of the first Sierra Leone People’s Party Students Union Wing in the country’s third public university.

This history is made after several unfruitful attempts by successive student supporters of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) in the last 12 years to establish and launch the chapter in the Northern Region.

“Our party is in governance but we residing in Makeni are in opposition. Our past efforts as a party earned us more than 15,000 votes from Bombali in the 2018 general elections but sadly we were unable to win parliamentary and local councils elections. This is our prime focus in the next elections and I urge you all here to continue to abide by the rules and regulations of the party and remain to protect our party constitution and forget not to work hands in glove with the leadership and members of the EBKUST-SLPP Students Union wing to ensure we all seek and accomplish the best for the party in this part of the country”, he admonished.
