Flamboyant Dauda cleared to contest Sierra Leone FA race

One of the top contenders for the Presidential race of the Sierra Leone Football Association Christian Dauda has won his appeal to be included in the race. 

Dauda appealed the SLFA Electoral Committee May 17 decision to disqualify him on the grounds that he has not been resident in the country for five years, according to the regulations governing the elections. 

But after looking into his appeal, the Appeals Committee headed by Lansana Kotor Kamara has ruled that Dauda is eligible to contest. 

In it findings found that Dauda has resided in the country for five years thereby automatically qualify to run for the position of Vice President -1 in thee upcoming SLFA Elective congress. 

It stated in a release. Adding that the Electoral Committee's decision to disqualify him be overturned. Dauda had served as team manager of the men's senior national team Leone Stars.

He's a stylish personality in clean coat suits, charismatic and a supporter of female football as well as players and less privileged people enhancing the promotion of football in Sierra Leone. 

He had been based in the United Kingdom since 1995 and is also Chairman of first division side Brookfields United in Freetown. In another development, SLFA on May 22 announced that Rodney Michael has been granted temporal eligibility by CAS to contest for the position of President in the FA race until a final verdict is passed on his appeal. 

The former Eastern Region Football Chairman and three others namely: incumbent President Isha Johansen, Sadick Deen Nyarkoh and Thomas Daddy Brima will now run for the SLFA top seat. Meanwhile, the SLFA has confirmed that the Elective Congress will now take place in the provincial city of Makeni on 5th June, 2021 and will be the first election to be administered since the current President was elected into office unopposed in August st 2013.
