The first female Executive Committee member Haja Ramatulai Kamara who also doubled as the female football chairperson at the Sierra Leone Football Association-(SLFA) together with the vice president-2 among other members of the local football federation during a familiarization visit in the North-Eastern city of Makeni last Sunday, August 29 pledged to jointly uplift the devastating status of female football in the country
Kamara while addressing key female football stakeholders and other attendees at the Makeni city council conference hall during a brief engagement that was organized by the North-East Region Football Association following a warm welcome by players and officials of female football clubs based in Makeni and Magburaka said she is committed to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure female football becomes am envy of all.
She furthered and reveals her plan to organize the first ever National Women’s League in the country, confirmed October 3, 2021 as the date to commence the female top-tier and appeals for support from the public.
Other speakers who spoke at the brief engagement were SLFA Executive Committee Member Mohamed Sorie Jalloh, Female Football representatives, former SLFA vice chairman Alie Commoner Kargbo, the Bombali District Football Association Chairman Suleiman Sillah Sesay, the Chairman Tonkolili District Football Association Abdul Pascal Gbla among other chairmen made commitments to support the growth of female football in the country.
The day’s visit was climaxed by a friendly football encounter between the National Female Under-20 side and Best of North-East Females at the Makeni Wusum Stadium where the National U-20 side edged the host by four goals to one (4-1).

This newly launched medical facility, comprising 11 treatment rooms, was developed with the support of Southeastern Medical International (SMI) and the Concord Christian Church. Their mission is to deliver compassionate healthcare and a range of medical services to the people of Bombali District and surrounding areas, with a particular focus on war victims and vulnerable families living in the Asker Amputee Camp at Robureh.
