An international media outlet based in Madrid, Spain Transcontinental Times: registered under the European Union will today (August 12, 2021) host the senior men’s cricket and U-19 team captain of Sierra Leone Edward Ngeba for an exclusive discuss about his journey as Cricketer, following his global request for support he put out on his twitter handle.

Edwards told Awoko that his ambition to play Cricket for both his home country and at top level remained unchanged.

He further confirmed that he will be representing Sierra Leone in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Qualifiers B in Kigali, Rwanda in October and November this year but is worried about getting a top cricket bat he will be able to use for the tournament, the reason he tweeted requesting for assistance earlier on July 16, 2021.

Apparently, the most famous Sierra Leonean Cricket youngster said in a tweet which reads: “Come Oct-Nov, I’ll be playing in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Qualifiers “B” in Kigali, Rwanda. Anyone who can at least help me with a top cricket bat that I will be able to use in the tournament will be highly appreciated and thanked. RT’s appreciated.”

It was this famous tweet from Ngeba that attracted 1,915 likes, 102 quoted tweets and 829 Retweets globally that opened the gate for many to reach out to the Sierra Leone Cricketer for interviews including Transcontinental Times (A media institution thatt is seeking public interest and perpetuating democratic values while providing authoritative analysis and commentary, with the aspiration to report on global issues with a wide range of sources including using the internet as the means to match up with modern day Journalism) that will engage him today at 14:00 CET exactly 1:00 PM local time.

Ngegba who is very fond of cricket is believed to have inherited the love for Cricket from his dad who's reported to be a fervent follower and lover of cricket since he watched Ibrahim Gandi Kabia playing. George’s father is of the firm believe that: “Nothing gives him more joy in cricket than the moment he heard that Ibrahim Gandi Kabia won two successive Player of the Series at ICC - International Cricket Council U19 World Cup qualifiers division 1&2, the reason he had  since made him (Ibrahim Gandi Kabia) his desired Cricketer of all time.

George has so far had a successful out of a somewhat challenging  youth career.

His appearances at several tournaments for his home country (Sierra Leone) includes: the 2016 ICC World Cricket League Africa Division-2 in South Africa, ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Qualifiers Africa Division-2, the 2016 ICC World Cricket League Africa Division-1 in South Africa, the 2017 Nigeria alongside his Sierra Leone teammates for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Sub-Regional Qualifiers "A" and the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Qualifiers Africa Division-2 in South Africa before he travelled to Naminbia for the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Qualifiers Africa Division-1 two years ago.

He is also the first Sierra Leonean player to register both 100 wickets and 1000 runs since the Sierra Leone Cricket Association started to digitize their records and began using the CricHero’s system no wonder he won the Sierra Leone National Entertainment Awards 2020 Best Sports Man Of The Year.
