3rd Daniel Salifu Samura U-14 Tourney kick-off at Mabanta’s Liberty Stadium

Baller without Boarder Football Club surrendered 2-1 to Young Sayenor Football Club on Wednesday at the Liberty Stadium, Mabanta in Makeni Northern, Sierra Leone during the opening day of the Daniel Salifu Samaura’s Under-14 Football Tournament 3rd Edition.

The following day, Lion Mountain Football Club of Mabanta Community edged Swamp Rangers Football Club 3-0 at the same venue in an all Mabanta Community derby with Lion Mountain’s forward Ibrahim Koroma bagging the star player of the match award on the day.

The tournament which is contested by a total of eight-(8) teams selected from within and outside the Mabanta Community will be played between February 9th and 25th at the 1,000 capacity Liberty Stadium, the sole sporting complex at the Mabanta Community.
According to the organizers of the Daniel Salifu Samura U-14 Tournament, the rationale behind the organization of the football showpiece for Under-14 Boys from 2019 is to let them showcase their soccer skills while encouraging them to embrace their education.

Baller without Border Football Club and Sayenor Football Club were the respective champions of the last two edition and each of the sixteen players of the respective teams including 2019  and 2020 runners-up Young Glorious Pass Texters  Football Club and Lion Mountain Football Clubs were Awarded with assorted school and learning materials apart from the champions and runners-up Two Hundred-(Le 200,000) and One Hundred Thousand Leones–(Le 100,000) Prize Moneys but the organizers said this year Prize monies will be bigger than the last two editions.
