Forward Mohamed Kofi Sesay and Alimamy Buya Kamara, two regulars of Wusum Stars Football Club, as well as defender Musa Mansaray have all been suspended by the club’s management until further notice. The trio’s are suspended from taking part in the ongoing Sierra Leone Premier League after the technical team discovered that they: Mohamed Kofi Sesay, Alimamy Buya Kamara and Musa Mansaray took part in a community gala in Moyamba town in the Southern region without the knowledge of their Head coach and Executive Members of the club, the club’s Secretary Mohamed Papa Bangura wrote in correspondences received by the three players last Tuesday. Their suspension now means the trio will miss their weekend top of the table tie against current League leaders Bo Rangers Football Club in the ongoing Sierra Leone Premier League. Additionally, the management of the Sierra Leone Premier League returnees says they will deduct fifty percent each from the three players’ salaries for the month of March. Although no clear date has been mentioned for the return of the suspended trios, there have been mixed reactions amongst fans and other supporters of Wusum Stars regarding the management’s decision to suspend the players. Some say the move is apt while many believed the decision was too harsh and hastily taken against the players whom they say are very useful to the club which has managed to win two of their last five games in the second and final round of this season’s Sierra Leone Premier League.
