Rising Queens retains third Starburst Park Equal Opportunity Trophy

Impressively, Rising Queens Football Club of Makeni pummeled their Konsho Queens Football Club counterparts 2-0 in the grand final of the Starburst Park Equal Opportunity Championship 5th edition to clinch their 3rd title.

On the road to lifting their 3rd Starburst Park Equal Opportunity trophy, Rising Queens shared the spoils in a goalless tournament opener, proceeded and dismantled tournament debutants and returnees Area Queens and Malimba Queens 6-0 and 4-0 respectively.

The successive victories helped them to book a date with Konsho Queens who they eventually defeated for the second time in the same stage of the monthly female tournament’s grand finals.

However, a total of 24 goals were scored by 12 players from the four participating clubs in all eight championship games played. Rising Queens forward Zainab Jalloh clinched the championship’s golden boot award for the second time in a row after netting five goals in four games.

Championship runner-up Konsho Queens skipper Sarah Turay together her teammate Fanta Kanneh and Rising Queens Emma U. Kabia all finished as the second joint highest goal scorers haven scored three goals respectively.
