One of the two North East Region representatives for the proposed first-ever Sierra Leone Premier League Mena Queens Football Club has announced the suspension of their 15-year-old inform winger and the club’s reigning leading goal scorer Fanta Kanneh.

She’s suspended from all club activities effectively indefinitely for alleged breach of contract, the Makeni based club further said in their Monday, August 15 afternoon announcement.

The teenager who finished as the highest goal scorer in the East Region Football Association and Sierra Leone Football Association sanctioned regional qualifiers for the proposed maiden edition of National Women’s Premier League is alleged to have journeyed from Makeni after seeking excuse from the club to see her mother in the village but instead headed to the eastern regional city of Kenema to sign for Kawula Rangers when her bid to sing as a free player backed fired.

She is famous for her agility, dribbling skills, self composure and confidence, no cap she has been able to net a little over 30 goals since she officially penned a three-year deal with Mena Queens Football Club earlier this year.

Kanneh  is yet available for comment but Abu Hassan Kargbo a member of Mena Queens media team says Kanneh’s remains a player of the club as was contracted until 2024 when her current deal will expire.

“Kanneh is one of the best players in our club and we’ve already registered her for the proposed Female Premier League where she is expected to spike surprises for our club, her suspension which has come to effect immediately on 15th August, 2022 remains indefinite until she show remorse to the club’s top management,” Kargbo told Awoko Newspaper Monday evening.
