Lamboi, Great Scarcies FC Show Class in National 1st Division Playoff

Lungi based soccer outfit Lamboi Football Club who finished as Runners-up of North West Region Football Association Men’s Super-10 maiden edition behind Kambia based Great Scarcies Football Club topped their group in the National Men’s 1st Division playoff with 10 points, three points higher than Group-B finishers Lauwa FC of Freetown.

Out of 4 group matches played in the eastern city of Kenema, the highflying Lamboi FC started off their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Gulf FC(1-1) before stamping three successive victories against Lauwa-(0-1) Edmond Michael Foundation-(2-3) and Bombali Sebora-(0-1) to progress to the playoff semifinals which is set to begin this Tuesday in Makeni.

In the other group, Champions of the NWRFA Super-10 Championship Great Scarcies Football Club finished top of group-A with 7 points after one draw, a defeat and two wins against Freetown FC-(3-0) and Sahid Conteh-U FC-(0-1). They’re joined in the semifinals by three-time Sierra Leone Premier League Champions Real Republicans who were relegated several years ago from the National Men’s top-tier.

Meanwhile, the two giant teams from the Northwestern region Great Scarcies United and Lamboi F.C will this Tuesday at the Wusum Stadium in Makeni battle Lauwa and Real Republicans at 2:30pm and 4:30pm respectively in the semifinals as the race to secure the three available spots for next season’s Sierra Leone Premier League continues among the four determined teams.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
