Chairman of the North West Region Football Association-(NWRFA) Abdul Osman Turay has confirmed imposing serious disciplinary action on the management of Great Scarcies United Football Club  for what he referred to as “in-sportsmanship behavior by some supporters of their supporters in the National Men’s 1st Division Playoffs.”

The NWRFA Chairman vehemently condemned the region’s reigning Men’s Super-10 champions supporters actions on Monday at the Wusum Stadium in Makeni against match officials and officers of the Sierra Leone Police after their semifinal match against Lauwa Football Club which they lost by 1-0.

“As a region we’re not in support of the gross misbehavior mounted by supports of G.S-United against match officials and security personnel, in football it’s either your team win, draw or lose, and accepting a match outcome in good faith is true definition of sportsmanship and not otherwise,” he pointed out.

And continued that there is no room for assaults in football, this the reason the NERFA will impose serious disciplinary measures on the region’s 1st division club in the not too distant.

He was however not specific on what exact disciplinary measures the regional football governing body will be imposing on the Kambia town based soccer outfit but assured the decision will be communicated to the general football family when taken.
