​Handball Assoc. Elective Congress put on hold, NSA tells Outgoing Executive told to “Fix Irregularities”

The expected Saturday, December 3, 2022 Elective Congress of the Sierra Leone Handball Association has been put on hold indefinitely, the National Sports Association-(NSA) has said in Friday presser.

The statement reads: “NSA would like to inform the general public, especially the Outgoing Executive and the General Membership of the Sierra Leone Handball Association-(SLHA) that, following consultations with the Minister of Sports after meeting with Handball Stakeholders on Thursday, 1st December 2022, the elective congress slated for Saturday 3rd December 2022 has been postponed the following are addressed:

1.     Constitutionality of the association of which some members have written petitions to the National Sports Authority for intervention.

2.     Thrash out all compliances leading to the elective congress as agreed by members of the association on July 16, 2022 Annual General Meeting held at the Olympic Africa of which the outgoing president Dr. Patrick Coker was in attendance.

3.   Constitutional review committee set up at the last AGM to finalize all matters pertaining to the revised constitution and report to the general membership for adoption before any date for the congress is announced.

4.     Dates for the congress, delegates list and declaration of vacant positions, and the appointment of the Electoral Committee Members must be in line with the constitution of the association.

5.     The outgoing executive must notify all parties concerned on the reviewed constitution that is supervised by the National Sports Authority.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
