As he impresses in debut appearance, Steven Caulker named in SkyBet TOTW

Wigan Athletics' new acquisition and Sierra Leone’s National Men’s  A-Team skipper Steven Caulker has been named among SkyBet’s Team of the Week following his extraordinary outing against Cardiff United over the weekend.

When handed his debut appearance on Saturday, 14th January 2023, against his former club in the SkyBet Championship, the experienced Caulker who was among the three changes from coach Kolo Toure’s starting-xi from their earlier Emirate FA Cup tie against Luton Town, showed no mercy against his former Cardiff United teammates as he overruled the the Wigan defense on that day to share spoils as they ended the match on 1-1.

Just 48hours after Caulker's interesting performance on his debut, SkyBet named him and 10 others in the team of the week.

Steven is being named alongside Blackpool’s gloveman Maxwell, Sheffield United’s defender Bogle, Helik of Huddersfiled, Albion WBA’s Townsend, Albion WBA’s midfielder Yokuslu, Norwich City’s Sargent, Reading’s Hendrick, Norwich City’s Dowell, and Swensea’s Piroe and forward Pukki of Norwich City.
