Mamadou Saidou Sow prefers Sierra Leone over Guinea

Relatives of midfielder Momadou Saidou Sow's in the eastern city of Kenema in Sierra Leone have confirmed to All out Sport that their brother who plays for CD Fontuna in the Spanish seguda has declined persuasions from friends to represent Guinea over Sierra Leone. 

Originally raised at Dalaba where he played with few clubs in Hamdallahi and Dixinn before he moved to Europe, the 23-year-old midfielder with traces from Kenema, Sierra Leone started his youth football at Alcobendas CF in Spain for Leganes C team before moving to CF Fontuna where he’s plying his soccer traced professionally.

The physical fit and right footed player plays the number 6 role for his Corey side (CF Fontuna), his  contribution has been described by his close followers as phenomenal for 2022/2923 season.


“I’m looking forward to play for Sierra Leone instead of Guinea to fulfill the promise I’ve made to my family in Sierra Leone whose dream is to see me donn the tri-colors of the West Africa nation,” Sow said.

As Sierra Leoneans aimed to qualify back to back in the AFCON 2023 with a huge task for the technical team to make the best squad against Nigeria, Sow’s  soccer qualities as a midfilder could be of great contribution to John Keister’s led Leone Stars.
