APPYA President Calls for capacity building of Young people urges for uphold of national peace, stability

Mohamed Jalloh, National President of the All Political Parties Youth Association (APPYA) is appealing for capacity building of young people and for all Sierra Leoneans to uphold peace and stability for national good. He made his plea to the government of Sierra Leone while reacting to the election and appointment of a few young people as members of parliament and other positions of trust in the national governance of the country. He went on to welcome President Julius Maada Bio’s appointment of a few young people into government ministries, agencies and department, and appealed on behalf of his membership for capacity building schemes such as technical and vocational skills training with emphasizes on information technology to be instituted for young people nationwide, as an urgent recipe to reduce the unemployment rate in the country. “If government urgently design, institute and monitor capacity building schemes for young people nationwide, idleness, joblessness and dependency will become a thing of the past in our country and there will be less crime rate and young people’s involvement in harmful drugs use. “By the election and appointment of a few young people into national governance is a sign of national readiness for growth but again as a nation now is the time for every Sierra Leone particularly young people at home and abroad to play their part to upholding peace and national stability,” the APPYA president urged. On his expectation from the young people elected and appointed to serve the nation, the APPYA president says he has “no doubt that the young people will deliver. They’ll not fail because they have reached thus far in national governance as a result of their hard work shown in the past. “APPYA is particularly proud of them being members of our association; they're helping to popularize one of the reasons why we exist, to offer a training ground for young people for national governance” he explained. Members of Parliament elect Sia Mahawa Habiama Tommy and Lawyer Alice Konya Sandy of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Deputy Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation Francis Amara Kallon, Patrick M. Gibrilla, Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs Timothy Musa Kabba, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, David Moinina Sengeh, Chief Minister to name but a few are the young people being elected and appointed to serve the nation.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
