P-Strikers Unveils Under 12 and 14 Teams in Historic Football Event

In a historic event that marked a milestone in Makeni's football history, P Strikers, a newly established Grassroot Football Club, unveiled its Under 12 and 14 teams following an intensive month-long open trial. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on Saturday, 23rd December 2023, at the Major sports centre of the city, Makeni Wusum Hotel, attracting a diverse audience of parents, sports lovers, and supporters.

Amidst the festive season, the event brought joy to 44 young soccer talents, with 22 selected for each level. Coach Mohamed K. Conteh, also known as Coach K-Plus, the Head Coach of P Strikers, shared insights with journalists about the rigorous selection process and the club's commitment to nurturing young talent.

The journey commenced on 26th December with an open trial that drew over 80 players for the Under 12 level and more than 60 for the Under 14 level from various corners of Makeni and its surroundings. Coach K-Plus, drawing on his wealth of experience from serving with notable football clubs like Bellami Foundation and Tommy's Professionals Football, explained how he meticulously assessed players based on skills, technicality, effectiveness, fitness, and other essential soccer criteria.

He confirmed that the newly selected teams would commence training on Wednesday, 27th December 2023. Furthermore, he outlined plans for the teams to engage in friendly matches after a month of intense training, assuring management and fans of tangible results. 

In an address to the unveiled players, Ishmeala Sow, the Vice Chairperson of P Strikers, expressed satisfaction with the players' performances. However, he emphasized the crucial role of discipline in shaping the success of these young athletes, both on and off the football pitch. Sow encouraged the budding talents to prioritize education alongside their soccer development.

He assured all that P Strikers has secured all necessary training equipment and would soon kick off training sessions. Sow also mentioned the club's commitment to ensuring transparent and fair player contracts, highlighting the use of player-parent consent forms by FIFA regulations.

He concluded that P Strikers was established with a core focus on transforming lives through soccer, with assurance to stay endlessly.
