Sierra Leone Female Premier League Inside: Mena Queens T.D reveals season objective

Exactly a month after his appointment as the first Technical Director of Mena Queens Football Club of Makeni, Alusine “Abega” Conteh has on Friday revealed the Makeni based female soccer outfit ambition in 2023/24 Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League (SLWPL). According to him, finishing this season’s league contest among the top three teams is top of their agenda. “Noting the numerous challenges we’re facing as a club primarily, the lack of community support and limited budget to accomplish some of our key activities including signing experienced players from other clubs nationally and internationally may deter us from claiming this season’s league cup,” he explained. The Technical Director also disclosed that he’s been stepping up for some matches as the team’s head coach, especially derby encounters for their remaining fixtures to further inspire both the players and the Mena Queens backroom staff to at least grab a point in their remaining matches. Director Conteh accentuated that their agenda to finish this season’s league among the top three best teams is sure and as technical staff of Mena Queens they’re currently handing heads to see how they will intensify their team’s preparedness to handle every game with a fresh winning strategy to enable them announce themselves as one of the toughest league competitors. “This does not mean we’re distancing ourselves from winning this season’s league, I’m just being honest and also want to assure fans of Mena Queens that anything can happen along the line, who knows we can emerge as the 2023/24 Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League champions should we win our remaining matches,” Technical Director Conteh asked, reassuring of a new dawn for the team which fined as the eight best team in the inaugural edition of the National Women’s Premier League in Sierra Leone that was won by Mogbwemo Queens last season.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
