Sierra Leone's skipper, Ibrahim Kamara, scored a hat-trick to lead his team to a 5-3 victory against Lebanon in the quarter-final of the Sydney World Cup. The match took place on Sunday at Potts Park complex in Yagoona. Kamara's performance was a timely return to form for him and Sierra Leone after their Sydney Nations Cup final defeat to South Sudan. Kellie Bangura, who had also scored a hat-trick in the previous quarter-final against Syria, added another goal to his tally, making it five goals in the tournament so far. Sierra Leone will face Cape Verde, their biggest rivals, in the semi-final on Sunday. Both teams will be focusing on the match, and the players Hassan Jalloh (Cape Verde) and Kallie Bangura (Sierra Leone) will be looking to win the Golden Boot Award, having scored five goals each.
Cape Verde is a team made up of Sierra Leonean players who felt they had been abandoned by the technical team back in 2020. Sierra Leoneans living in Sydney are advised not to miss this exciting match on Sunday.
