Relegation Threatened Kholifa Stars desire revenge over Bo Rangers

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson
Despite his side sitting at the rock bottom of the 2023/24 Leone Rock Premier League with 15 points from 19 league games, Abdulrahman Turay, Head coach of Kholifa Stars has revealed they’ll be seeking revenge against Bo Rangers in their match day-20 clash. Coach Turay who joined the Magburaka based club in February with the primary task to save them from relegation has disclosed his sole aim in the match underway later today on Bo Rangers home soil, is to seek revenge of their last 1-0 home loss to the league holders and current table toppers. “This match is very important to us and at this point in time every point matters to us which is why I’ve told the players to give their best against Bo Rangers to at all cost avoid a defeat,” he noted. The former Wusum Stars coach furthered that he’s aware his fans are thirsty for a win but he’s appealing for their continued support and encouragement to the players. Asked if he’s under pressure leading to the match, the Kholifa Stars coach said “no I’m not under pressure, there are still more games to go and I think we’ll not be relegated at the end of the season which is my primary task here. “We’ll be playing the back to back league winners and current champions who’ve had a good season so far but that will not scare us to do what we’re capable of doing when we meet them on Sunday evening,” he confidently noted. A win for will be Kholifa Star third in the season. They’re four points behind 17th place Mighty Blackpool will only reduce their point gap but will keep them stagnant on league’s log bottom until their next match while a defeat will only worsen their run in the league. However, hot favourite Bo Rangers who’ve only lost two of their 19 league matches and sits top with 41 points two more than their closest contenders FC Kallon with 39 points from 20 matches, on other hand will still be topping the table irrespective of their match day-20 home clash outcome against league debutants Kholifa Stars who they defeated 1-0 in Magburaka on November 12, last year in the first leg.

By: Abdulrahman Barrie The U17 football teams from Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Guinea Bissau have been disqualified from the 2024 U17 African Cup of Nations competition in Senegal after failing the mandatory MRI test scans. These scans, which determine the age of the players, revealed discrepancies that led to their removal from the tournament. The disqualification follows changes to Article 27.4 of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations regulations, which have tightened the criteria and enforcement of age verification measures. The updated rules stipulate that if a team has more than four players deemed ineligible after the MRI eligibility test, the entire team will be disqualified. The MRI tests, used to enforce age restrictions in youth competitions, are crucial for ensuring fairness. Unfortunately, the teams from these three nations did not meet the age criteria, resulting in their disqualification. This decision has come as a significant disappointment for the young players and their fans, w...
