The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has unveiled Mohamed Kallon as the new Head Coach of the national senior men’s football team, the Leone Stars.
The announcement, made on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the federation's office in Freetown, marks the beginning of a new chapter in Sierra Leonean football.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including SLFA President Thomas Daddy Brima, Vice President 1 Harold Nat-Johnson, NSA Executive Director Dr. Emanuel Safa Abdulai, and Director of the Ministry of Sports Haroun Korji.
SLFA President Thomas Daddy Brima emphasized the overwhelming public support for Kallon’s appointment, stating, “He is the people’s choice at this time, and we had to listen to their call. Kallon has the experience, professionalism, and passion for the game.
We believe he is the right man for the job.” Kallon’s appointment is accompanied by a three-year contract, with a performance-based renewal option, highlighting the SLFA's commitment to long-term success.
Expressing his gratitude and commitment, Mohamed Kallon remarked, "I accept this job because it is my country. It was not an easy decision.
There were many considerations, but now we are here. I'm honored to serve Sierra Leone. I love my country, and that is why I'm taking on this responsibility.”
