UniMak Lecturer Shebora Samaba Kamara Awarded as Best Bombali Lecturer 2025

For his outstanding contribution to education, Mr. Shebora Samba Kamara, a renowned lecturer and station manager of Voice of Wusum radio 88.5 in Makeni, has been awarded as the best Bombali district lecturer of the year 2025.

The award ceremony was organized by Save our Youth Initiative organization with the titled "The Bombali all Walks of Life award."

Mr. Shebora Samba Kamara lectures various international relations and communications related modules both in the mass communication and political science and international relations departments at UniMak.

Away from that, he assists in lecturing inmates at the Makeni correctional center.

Mr Kamara is a registered member of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), and he's been serving as a media practitioner (journalist) and analyst for over seven years.

He is currently serving as the lead public relations officer for the University of Makeni-UNIMAK.

Shebora, for a very long time, has been serving as a chief judge in various regional and national educational and political debates within and outside the Bombali district.

He'd served as a trainer for Bombali school principals, HODs, and senior teachers at the school leadership program.

Shebora was recently elected the national secretary general of the Old Makeni Franciscans Association (OMFA) during it 67th anniversary celebration in Makeni. 

According to Shebora, this award serves as a motivation and inspiration to him. "I felt motivated and inspired with such an award. I will continue to serve society with all seriousness and to the best of my abilities." He stated. 

Mr. Kamara, thank the organization and organizers of the award ceremony for the recognition, which means the outputs of his works in the community have been proven futile and positive. 

He dedicated the award to his parents, who chose for him education over poverty and to all those who in diverse ways contributed to his academic journey.
