NWRFA Historically Decorates Maiden Men’s Super-10 Best-XI

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson  At the Kambia Sports Complex, the North West Region Football Association-(NWRFA), last Sunday made history as the first-ever region nationwide to decorate its team of the season. The new administrative football region uniquely dressed all eleven players from eight of the ten football clubs that took part in the just concluded Men’s Super-10 Football Champion in customized white and blue jerseys with green stockings. BDFA U-15 Men’s Championship Preliminary Kick-off on June 24

​ By: Alusine Rehme Wilson  The anticipated preliminary for the proposed Bombali District Football Association-(BDFA) U-15 Men’s Championship begins on Friday, 24th June, 2020 with all matches scheduled to take place at the Wusum Stadium. The matches are already lined up to be played on the opening day in  a knockout format. On match day one, Kin Football Club, BWB Academy and AZ-Foundation football Club will respectively battle Iron Metal Football Club, Fothal and Mena Stars Football Club at 8:00am, 10:30am and 4:30pm local time at the same venue while Rogbaneh Strikers, Sektars United and Sierra Avengers will respectively battle their Santino Football Club, Young Moon Light and Korombo Football Club opponents at 8:30am, 10:30am and 10:30am in match day 2 and 3 during the weekend days of Saturday and Sunday. Sierra Leone slips 5 places down in latest Men’s Ranking

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson  The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone, the nation’s senior men’s team have dropped five places downwards from 108th to 113th place in the World, and now ranked as the 25th Best team in Africa, according to the FIFA/Coca Cola latest Men’s National Teams Ranking. As of last March, John Edward Keister’s side slipped one place downwards from 107th to 108th with a total points of 1173.89 but have scored 5.68 points less to drop five place downwards and currently occupy 113th place globally with a total point of 1168.21. Stone pelting obstructs Nieni Chiefdom’s Paramount Chieftaincy Election - Returning Officer

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson Despite votes being counted, the winner of the Nieni Chiefdom in Koinadugu District long awaited Paramount Chieftaincy Election is yet to be declared by  the election’s returning officer Simenon Fatoma, who doubles as the Provincial Secretary of the Northeast Region. This follows sudden misbehaviors of some supporters of the three other candidates that secured the list number of votes took to pelting stones on the roof of the Yifin town court barray where the elections took place. The pelting of stone was so intense that the Sierra Leone Police in the Northeast region intervened by firing tear gases as a remedy to halt the standoff which they eventually succeeded on, and thus paved the way for the continuation of the counting of the individual votes being casted in favor of each of the four candidates. ROFUTHA wraps up HIV & AIDS, Human Rights and Law discuss with Northeast region FSU Staff, others

The day-long session which is desired to examine successes and challenges on the fight against, domestic violence, gender issues and other sexual offences related offenses was facilitated by Mrs. William Bah, Mr. Amara Lebbie, Mr. Idriss Songo and Mr. Isaac Ahemesah.
