Liberia, seven other low ranked nations AFCON 2025 preliminary qualifiers opponents known

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson Sierra Leone’s neighbour, Liberia, along with seven other lowest-ranked nations including Chad, Djibouti, and Eswatini, will face off against their respective opponents in a double-header from March 18 to 26, 2024 in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON), Morocco Preliminary qualifier.  This preliminary qualifier is for a chance to enter the AFCON 2025 qualifiers group stage.  On Tuesday, the AFCON 2025 preliminary round draw, which took place at CAF Headquarters in Cairo, revealed the four lowest-ranked teams among the eight: Djibouti, Somalia, Chad, and Sao Tome.  During the FIFA Window, these teams will host the other four highest-ranked teams: Liberia, Eswatini, Mauritius, and South Sudan, who will host the second leg of the matches.  However, the overall four winners from this preliminary round will join 44 other nations, including Sierra Leone, in the group stage.  The 48 nations will then been placed in 12 distinct groups consisting...

Kallie Bangura hat-trick keeps Sierra Leone in hunt for Sydney-World Cup final

By: Martin Wusuha Conteh Kallie Bangura marked a sensational fashion hat-trick to give Sierra Leone a pulsating 3-2 win over Syria in today's second rounds at the Potts Park complex. Sierra Leone were in danger of being held to a draw when Syria equalised (2-2) just after the interval but Bangura provided a neat finish ten minutes from time to earn his side victory. Camp Canada Athletics Club appoints Albert Kobba as President

Marlo replaced former president of Sierra Leone Athletics Association (SLAA), Alhaji Abdul Karim Sesay, who held the position since the inception of the club.
