This preliminary qualifier is for a chance to enter the AFCON 2025 qualifiers group stage.

On Tuesday, the AFCON 2025 preliminary round draw, which took place at CAF Headquarters in Cairo, revealed the four lowest-ranked teams among the eight: Djibouti, Somalia, Chad, and Sao Tome.

During the FIFA Window, these teams will host the other four highest-ranked teams: Liberia, Eswatini, Mauritius, and South Sudan, who will host the second leg of the matches.

However, the overall four winners from this preliminary round will join 44 other nations, including Sierra Leone, in the group stage.
