Wusum Stars snatch 2019 NAS/AHF HIV & AIDS Cup

Makeni city on Saturday evening was all cheering for players of one time Premier League club, Wusum stars as celebrations from supporters of the club rallied around them.

The black and yellow boys of Bombali District bounced back to defeated Kholifa Stars of Tonkolili District 2- in the National Aids Secretariat (NAS) and other partners organized football competition in commemoration of the 31st Anniversary World Aids Day.

 Kholifa Stars took the lead in the early minutes of the game, thanks to Sulaiman E. Kargbo who scored for the visitors in 5th minutes. Striker Alimamy Daddy Kamara equalized for the host in the 30th minutes to make it 1-1 before half time.
Inform striker Amadu Barrie aided his side to win the match after his 50th minute strike few meters outside the 18 yard box of Kholifa Stars which saw the match ending 2-1 to Wusum stars till full time.
NAS Northern Region Coordinator, Mohamed Sisay and Madam Miatta Jamabawai the Country Program Manager of AHF both presented the champions and runner up trophies to the two clubs respectively noting that this is part of their continued efforts to help in cooperate youths through sports precisely football the most loved sports in Sierra Leone to end HIV and AIDS in the country by 2030.

They both called on the general public to embark on condom use for safe sex, go to health centers for HIV and AIDS text, embrace HIV and AIDS affected persons to help end the virus in the country by 2030.

Popular football supporter Issa Kamara aliak "Kele Egbepeh" despite his side winning the cup, said he was also amazed with the HIV and AIDS messages shared at the stadium that evening, noting that "I have never used condom but for the fact that NAS and partners have senticized and distributed condoms today, I have collected mine now ready for testing at home because, I may not know my partner's health status which is why hence forth I will be a fervent user of condom and I am however recommending to all sport loving fans and more to embrace condom use for safer sex," he concludes.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
