SLSDWA to hold General Assembly in October

October 23, 2021 has been set aside as the date for the General Assembly of the Sierra Leone Swimming Diving and Water Polo Association to commence, the Association’s Secretary General Mohamed Turay on Monday, 23rd August, 2021 confirmed.

Turay says notifications have been sent to the Federation International de Nation (FINA), and all members of the Sierra Leone Swimming Diving and Water Polo Association regarding the General Assembly as required by the constitution of the Association. “The General Assembly will take place in Freetown but the actual venue is to be decided and will be eventually publicized,” he added. 

The General Assembly is where delegates of the SLSDWA usually elect their Executive members into various positions of office for a period of 48 months per term and ahead of the October 23, Elective Congress nominations of the members for the post of President, Vice President, Secretary General and Assistant Secretary General as well as Women’s Representative and two media officers are welcomed until at least thirty days (30) to congress.

October, 2017 was the last time the Sierra Leone Swimming Diving and Water Polo Association held its General Assembly, and current holders of Executive positions in the Association were ushered into office for a period four years.
