"Big money spending team" Bombali Shebora Football Club of Bombali defeated rivals Kholifa Stars Football Club of Tonkolili on their home turf at the Magburaka mini-stadium 1-0 on Sunday evening to continue their unbeaten run.

Ace skipper and midfielder Ahmed Didat Kalokoh silence the host crowed as he netted to put his side ahead before the quarter hour mark and the visitors from Bombali kept their press for more goals mounting in the match which most sports pundits have from the time described as an inter-district derby but they faced some stiff resistance from the host defense.

Kalokoh’s goal turned out as the match decider after they repeatedly frustrated all scoring efforts from their Kholifa Stars opponents mounting the ace Bombali Shebora Football Club’s goal tally to three out of seven appearances in the ongoing Northern Region Men’s Super-10 maiden edition while his team remain at the top of the championship’s log with 19 points collected from seven games played so far in the first round of the ten teams contested league.

The “Big money spenders” win also saw them stretch their title race with current second place Yoni Shooting Stars of Mile-91 on 16 points before their last home match played on Sunday against Ocean Boys Football Club of Makeni ended in a brawl.

Overall, the win takes Bombali Shebora Football Club unbeaten run tally to 15 matches unbeaten since August having drawn only three of their last fifteen games played since August last year.

By: Abdulrahman Barrie The U17 football teams from Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Guinea Bissau have been disqualified from the 2024 U17 African Cup of Nations competition in Senegal after failing the mandatory MRI test scans. These scans, which determine the age of the players, revealed discrepancies that led to their removal from the tournament. The disqualification follows changes to Article 27.4 of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations regulations, which have tightened the criteria and enforcement of age verification measures. The updated rules stipulate that if a team has more than four players deemed ineligible after the MRI eligibility test, the entire team will be disqualified.
