In Karene... BTF inducts U-12 officials, refreshes others

Newly established humanitarian Organization Bathuly Timbo Foundation (BTF) on Tuesday 8th March 2022 held a day long induction meeting with Under-12 Officials.

The event which was hosted at the Mabunduka Community in Sanda Tenderen Chiefdom North-western Sierra Leone brought together Team managers and Coaches of all four Under-12 soccer teams existing under the canopy of the Foundation in Karene District.

The engagement focused at equipping team administrators with well-heeled knowledge on their respective roles and responsibilities. Equally, they were able to earn knowledge on leadership, Laws of the Game and some other essential soccer skills which were done in both theoretical and practical.

Mr. Alpha Bellah Bangura, BTF Board of Directors Chairman Chaired the event which kick starts the foundation's 2022 events, said he believe officials are worthy to get utmost attention in order to rightfully help make relevant the soccer officials in discharging their respective duties at their teams and communities.

In his presentation, Sallieu Bathuly Timbo the Founder and Chief Executive Officer at the Bathuly Timbo Foundation expressed his supreme gratitude to Coaches and Team Managers of the Batkanu, Mateboi, Mabunduka and Magbukeh Under-12 Teams who have auspiciously serving the Foundation. 

"BTF can only make success with the amount of unending participation of officials in all BTF activities. Coaches and Managers were selected not out of any form of association but out of trust, and are expected to act up to expectations."

He added that, the Foundation gears towards providing livelihood for young people with the scope of developing them and the various communities they represent through soccer, Agriculture, Education and some other necessary activities that have the potentials of benefiting individuals and equally the communities they represents.

Speaking on behalf of participants, Coach Yusifu Buria Jalloh the Head Coach of the Mateboi Under-12 Team hailed the event as a second to not soccer learning platform they have ever chanced to witness. According to him, the engagement took them to a new soccer world that none of them had been before.

He underscored that, naming him as a coach was just a title indicating his responsibility in the pitch but could not bear the knowledge of performing such function, but with the support of the foundation, they have acquired a lot of ideas on how to impact kids with the various scoccer skills and leadership trainings.

”If not for this Foundation, it would have been difficult for us to acquire beneficial knowledge in soccer and less I speak of empowering young talents in this precious game of soccer. Today we’ve learnt so much about the different skills involved in the game including leadership. Achieving such course is a great honour for us. 

"We are determined to spill out the picked up skills to the young boys as we are hopeful to receive more acquaintance of the game from Coach Abu- our instructor and the rest of the BTF technical team.

"We are confidence that in subsequent times, we would be provided with courses that will earn us coaching certificates and licenses”. He concluded.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
