By: Alusine Rehme Wilson
Leone Stars midfielder Kwame Quee took to the internet to share his excitement after having a bit of playing time with his new club Najran SC of Saudi Arabia. The talented Sierra Leone winger turned midfielder says he is happy to have played a part during the Arabian side’s Najran SC 2-1 win which they picked up last Wednesday at the King Abdulllah Sports City Jaddah their day’s opponent Jeddah Football Club home stadium. The 25-year-old Sierra Leone soccer sensation who represented his home country at the 33rd Edition of the Africa Cup of Nations before he joined the Saudi Arabian side some two weeks ago from Island based outfit Vikingur Reykjavik where he won several laurels including the 2019 Icelandic Cup, posted two photos of him donning the green, red and yellow colors of his new team on all his social media handles with the caption: “First experience in the Arab world. Some minutes in the tank +3 point. Vamos Najran. To the Fans Shukrann.” His agility on the internet recently points out that the football looks brightest and by all indications now ambitiously anticipates for a space in his new team starting XI to further unleash his soccer potential. But Kwame who started his football career with Sierra Leone elite side FC Johansen have revealed that at the moment he is okay moving to the Arab world for the first time to continue his professional football.

By: Abdulrahman Barrie The U17 football teams from Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Guinea Bissau have been disqualified from the 2024 U17 African Cup of Nations competition in Senegal after failing the mandatory MRI test scans. These scans, which determine the age of the players, revealed discrepancies that led to their removal from the tournament. The disqualification follows changes to Article 27.4 of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations regulations, which have tightened the criteria and enforcement of age verification measures. The updated rules stipulate that if a team has more than four players deemed ineligible after the MRI eligibility test, the entire team will be disqualified. The MRI tests, used to enforce age restrictions in youth competitions, are crucial for ensuring fairness. Unfortunately, the teams from these three nations did not meet the age criteria, resulting in their disqualification. This decision has come as a significant disappointment for the young players and their fans, w...
