Abubakaarr Osai Kamara, 11 others cleared to run for Ngowahun Paramount Chieftaincy

The Provincial Secretary of the North East Region Simenon Fatoma together with other Stakeholders including Tribal Authorities of Ngowahun Chiefdom have cleared Abubakarr Osai Kamara and 11 other candidates eligible to run for the chiefdom June 4,  Paramount Chieftaincy Election.

The twelve candidates namely:Abubakarr Osai Kamara, Briama Osaio Kamara, Umaru Osaio Kamara, Tamboura Osai Kamara, Foday Baimba Osaio Kamara, Kombo Osai Kamara, Salifu Kamara, Sorieba Osai Kamara, Foday Amara Kamara, Thomas Robert Kanu, Joseph Kanu and Foday Amara Kamara from the Kamara and Kanu ruling houses were all cleared yesterday at a well attended declaration ceremony hosted at the Kalangba Court Barry in the Ngowahun Chiefdom, Bombali District in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone.

Initially the candidacy of Salifu Kamara, Abubakaarr Osai Kamara, Joseph Kanu, Thomas Robert Kanu and Senisie Kanu were objected during their decleration but after brief hearing was launched between them and the persons that objected their eligibility, testimonies and evidences proved that all five objected aspirants are eligible to run for the chiefdom's Paramount Chieftaincy seat  in the next two weeks.

Before the pronouncement by the Northeast region Provincial Secretary that confirms all 12 aspirants eligible to contest for the prestigious Ngowahun Chiefdom PC seat, all candidates and the 400 plus Tribal Authorities jointly danced to Loko cultural songs to climax the historic and relatively peaceful declaration event.

In a interview with AWE-Media.SL, both the Provincial Secretary of the North East Region Simenon Fatoma and the Senior District Officer Abubakarr Kamara expressed delights over the peaceful conduct of the people of Ngowahun throughout the deceleration process and urged them to maintain similar spirit on the pooling day (June 4, 2022).
