Freetown FC’s Dosso Sidik historic brace sends them top of Men’s 1st Division Playoffs Group-A

Ivorian born defender Dosso Sidik who currently skips Freetown Football Club from Kenema made history on Tuesday evening as he scored twice against Conteh-U FC of Makeni to defeat the host 3-2 in the ongoing National Men’s 1st Division Playoffs.

Sidik completed his brace in the 55 minute to become the first player in the tournament to score twice in a single game in the ongoing qualifiers that will determine the next three 1st division teams to be promoted to next season’s national Men’s top-tier.

The central and defensive midfielder whose team now leads with 4 points and 4 goals earned from two of their four group-B matches is  also the leading goal score of the playoffs.

He told AWE-Media.SL in a post match interview he’s delighted to become the first player to score a brace in this year’s playoffs, adding “apart from the excitement my brace brings, winning our first game in the playoffs excite us as well because it resonates with our team goal of gaining promotion to next season’s premier league.”

Disturbing snail space Civil works in the Makeni Central Lorry park

By: Ibrahim Jalloh - (Jallomy) The Makeni City Council (MCC) ordered commercial vehicles and business entities to leave the park area for the purpose of upgrading the park. Two weeks were given as the duration of the work. Regrettably, a week plus few days have elapsed with no significant work done. Drivers and business people in the park are completely frustrated and their livelihoods threatened.  Few years ago, drivers and traders were asked out of the park for similar reason but after two weeks they were asked to return to the park with no work done. This was disrespectful and insulting.  We urge MCC to double their efforts as the affected persons are running out of patience.
