Bo Rangers Football Club have today Monday 16 January 2023 appointed Alhaji 'Abedi' Foray as Head Coach to replace foreign coach José Miguel Salomon Cortés.

The former Kamboi Eagles Head Coach have been serving as the Assistant Coach 1 for the defending champions after resigning from his post at Kamboi Eagles on 22nd June 2021.

Coach Cortés who was appointed in September 2021 led Bo Rangers to its first ever premier league title last season and a CAF Champions League appearance last year September. He however could not stand in the dugout for his side during the CAF competition due to qualification criteria. As a result his assistant Alhaji 'Abedi' Foray who had met the required coaching qualification was on the touchline in Liberia and Algeria against Algerian counterparts CR Belouizdad, securing a 1-1 draw in Liberia before a humiliating 3-0 defeat in Algeria in the return leg which confirmed their exit.

Coach Cortés signed a two year contract deal with Bo Rangers in September 2021 to replace Coach Dominic Konneh who resigned from his post to concentrate on national duty with the Senior National male team (Leone Stars).

His (Cortés) arrival at the club made Bo Rangers to become the second team in the history of Sierra Leone Premier League to sign a European coach.

Coach José Salomon Cortés who recently travelled out of the country was expected to return shortly but according to close sources opted to resign due to family reasons.

Coach Abedi's appointment is coming just a day after leading the defending champions against his former side Kamboi Eagles in Kenema City where he secured a vital 1-0 win in the absence of Head Coach José Salomon Cortés.

Coach Abedi is a master class tactician with years of experience as a football coach both at club and national level. He served his former side Kamboi Eagles for over a decade leading them to numerous victories (national and international) including winning of major trophies.

Being a member of the technical team, he helped Bo Rangers to secure its first major silverware since the club was founded in 1954.

Bo Rangers who currently leading the premier league table with 20 points, 2 points clear off Mighty Blackpool and are set to host newly promoted side Lamboi FC on Saturday at the Bo Sports Stadium.

Coach Abedi's major demand from executive and fans is to ensure he retains the trophy this season with the executive greatly backing the club in all areas towards realizing huge successes.

Executive Chairman of Bo Rangers FC Mr. Babadi Kamara has transformed the club positively. The club can now boast of an ultramodern club house and set to officially open its six thousand capacity stadium (The Southern Arena). The Southern Region based club is now a club to reckon with in the country setting the pace high for others.

With a good knowledge of this coach Abedi knows exactly the challenge ahead and may only hope to continue the good performance of the club but he's set for big tests in a highly competitive league this season.
