By: Alusine Rehme Wilson  A recent study conducted by this writer indicates that the majority of jelly coconut traders in Makeni are Female between the age brackets of 18-38 years.  Unlike the male jelly sellers who on a daily basis, hawk along the central business area of the municipality pushing wheelbarrows to sell coconuts, women carry on their head at least one hundred coconuts in either trays or large basins hawking along several areas in the Northern city. After the Sama Foundation donated it's first consignment of sport equipment nearly 15 years ago, little did the organization's Sierra Leonean founder imagined how much goodwill it would attract. Based in the state of Texas, Sama has wooed interest from Albion and Imperial Soccer Club, who have pledged to donate more football equipment soon. The management of Loreto Health Services, a leading Health Services clinic in Makeni city since 1997 has revealed during a day's awareness raising workshop on Epilepsy and mental illnesses organized for Police, Prisons Officers, Nurses, Epileptic patients, CSOs and stakeholders in Bombali District that: "they may stop seeing Epilepsy patients if Government don't come to their rescue." Friends of Ahmadiyya-(FOA), a group of Alumni and well wishers of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Senior Secondary School Rokupr on Wednesday, 29th March, 2022 made a cash donation to the Principal of the School Musa K.D Mahmood on behalf of the school. General Secretary of the Association Madam Fatima Mahamood presented the donation together with a cross section of the (FOA) membership at the school’s multipurpose sports complex during the second and final day of the school’s 37th Annual inter-house sports meeting marking the fourth from Friends of Ahmadiyya to the school since the establishment of the group some two years ago.
