RESIDENT MINISTER NORTH EAST MEETS WITH SL

The resident Minister North, Hon Abu Abu Koroma yesterday met with a cross section of the Regional Executive of the Sierra Leonean Association of Journalists (SLAJ) Northern Region and station Managers in Makeni to strengthen tied with his office and journalism in his region.



Addressing Journalists, the Resident Minister North, Abu Abu Koroma said he is please to come to SLAJ Secretariat. He thanks his Excellency President Bio to give him the task to serve in the capacity as resident Minister North.

He revealed that Journalism is key towards the development of a nation, he noted that during the past, journalism has been politicized but what is key is patriotism towards the nation building.

He disclosed that journalists should put Sierra Leone first among all interest and further disclosed that his office is open and he is always prepared to work towards developmental strides of the association in achieving its goal and objective.

He disclosed that His Excellency President Bio is determining to fight corruption and to make Sierra Leone become a paradise and therefore he will accept constructive criticism in order to build a better nation. Stating out that the principle of Journalism must not be heard but be seen at work and that the cores values of journalism must be strictly follow by all practicing journalists.

The chairman of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists North, Sahr James Bangah thanks the Resident Minister North, Hon Abu Abu Koroma for his frantic efforts to visit SLAJ Secretariat at Teko road in Makeni.

He reiterated that SLAJ will create an enabling atmosphere with the resident minister office and media houses but emphasis that SLAJ will frown at any political attempt to muzzle journalism.

He commended the resident minister north for his brilliant step to visit SLAJ secretariat, pointing out that SLAJ records shows that the resident minister north is the first resident minister that has visited the secretariat since it was established in 2006 under the leadership of Hon Ibrahim Ben Kargbo

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
