United Methodist Alumni Association Makeni Inaugurates Maiden Executive

Since its formation in 2010, the United Methodist Alumni Association Makeni, Sierra Leone (UMAAM)-SL has on Friday 5th March, 2021 held its first ever inauguration ceremony for elected officials to steer the affairs of the association for a term of three years.

The top five elected and newly inaugurated UMAMM Executive Members includes: Mr. Ernest Yusuf Tarawallie as National President, Mr. Alison Oliver Barzey as National Secretary General, Mrs. Aminata Munu Nee Bangura as National Financial Secretary, Mr. Suliaman Sankoh as National Publicity Secretary and Mr. Nabie Musa Conteh as National Organizing Secretary. 
The day’s occasion was hosted at the United Methodist Secondary School Makeni grounds and attracted a little over one hundred attendees including Deputy Director at the Ministry of Basic and Secondary School Education Bombali District Office, the current principals of both the JSS and SSS of the school, retired administrators of the institution, representatives from all colleges and universities in Makeni, members of the past executive as well as current and past students of the school. 

Highlights of all statements delivered at the occasion commended UMAAM for taking a step forward, urged its members to be more united for progress, offered prayers for the newly elected President Ernest Yusuf Tarawlie and his executive while urging them to be more developmental, transparent and accountable.

Several other appointees appointed by the elected officials were then announced by the Chairman of the occasion Mr. Shebora Samba Kamara who doubles as the Station Manager at Voice of Wusum Radio in Makeni.
Retired teacher Mr. Gaskin Amara who represented the Chairman DiCoVEC Bombali and the United Methodist Church District Superintendent led the procession to sown members of the elected executive who all subscribed to oath of office for a three years team to complete the process for the first ever inaugurated executive.
The UMAAM President elect, Ernest Yusuf Tarawalie on behalf of his Executive in his statement at the occasion has promised good leadership with a lot of goodies to follow.

  1. A big thanks and extreme appreciation to the former pupils of UMSS for amassing calculative steps to advance an academic association that seeks to develop and promote unity, academic excellence including the socio-economic development of its members and society at large.

    I also extend profound thanks to the school administration and the UMC mission especially the District Superintendent Madam Bockarie for the permissive environment established to ensuring and allowing such Association to exist. Our centripetal roles are to collaborate, cooperate and complement the school administration and society at large.

    I hold the believe that our elected officials will deliver for the essential interest of all thus, I appeal to all compatriots to converge our diverse collective efforts with the spirit to see that our newly executive elect succeeds.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
