Makeni All Stars dislodge Leone Stars 4-1, ends unbeaten run

Makeni All Stars Football Club on Sunday defeated Leone Stars 4-1 at the Wusum Stadium in a warm-up match organized by Caribbean entertainment.

It was the first defeat out of five friendly matches played so far by the Sierra Leone Senior Men’s National Team in their ongoing nationwide tour.

Host Makeni All Stars which was guided by Former Wusum Stars and Bombali Shebora Football Club Ibrahim A.S Kamara entered into the match with much determination for victory and it did pay off as they played for pride at a crowded Wusum stadium thanks to former Sahid-Conteh-U Football Club’s forward Sulaiman Sheriff Kargbo hat-trick and Wusum Stars promising forward Abdul Bangura’s 50th minute finish.

Bo Rangers talismanic goal machine Musa Noah “Tombo” Kamara, the back to back Sierra Leone Premier League Goal king winner scored the only goal for Leone Stars 20 minutes on to level the score at 1-1 in the first half but the host doubled up their efforts in second half scoring three additional goals to dislodged the visiting Leone Stars 4-1 on their home soil.


Meanwhile, the Leone Stars team that comprises of former skipper Umaro Zangalay Bangura, Musa Noah Tombo Kamara, Suffian Kalokoh, Mohamed Metzger, Kemson Fofana, John Bankole Kamara, Mohamed Buya Turay, Abu Dumbuya and others have already journeyed to the eastern region city of Koidu in Kono District for another friendly match with Kono All Stars as part of their nationwide offseason friendly tour.

Loud financial silence in Leone Stars camp

Yoni Chiefdom Crowns Journalist Richmond Tholley as Ceremonial Chief
