North East Region Playoff gets underway on Monday

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson The race among eight teams that advanced from their various district qualifiers to the North East regional playoff of its four districts of Bombali, Falaba, Koinadugu and Tonkolili will commence on Monday in Magburaka. One of Group A’s hot favorites Golden Dragons of Tonkolili, a former Premier League side will welcome their opponent Puna FC from Falaba in the opening match of the 2023 regional playoffs which also serves as the qualifiers to the National Playoff for the available three slots up for grab by the first division teams that will gain promotion to the national championship. The following day two matches are lined up for 4.p.m in Magburaka and Makeni respectively between the other Group-A teams Kholifa Stars of Tonkolili and Umar FC of Falaba while two of Group-B opponents Bombali Sebora of Bombali and Bintumani Scorpions of Koinadugu will face each in their group opener. Bo Welder Finds New Joy in Supporting Home Club

In just three years, Kamara has become a prominent figure among football enthusiasts in Sierra Leone, known for his passionate support of Bo Rangers. His distinctive slogan, “Booooooohooooo…,” makes it hard for anyone to believe that he is a skilled welder. Her team won the first Elite Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League. Suma is a former player for Sierra Leone Police and Lioness Football Clubs. After retiring from active football, she took up coaching as a profession so that she could give back to the game she loves so much. She started her coaching career with her former team, Sierra Leone Police FC, and later joined the Mogbwema Queens to become the first female technical director of a female premier league team in the country, Mogbwema Queens that is based in Rutile in the southern part of Sierra Leone.
