❗Youth Build Sierra Leone Rehabilitates another Deplorable Road

Unfinished road projects by successive road contractors, governments, and some road construction companies, and the lack of proper maintenance culture and structures over the years, particularly in the municipality of Makeni and other parts of the country has led to the deplorable conditions of major roads, as it affected all development sectors of a nation.

In addressing some of these challenges present and past governments have made tireless attempts to improve the road network system in the country.

Youth Build – Sierra Leone, a leading youths transformation and education center based in Makeni, Bombali District as part of its usual services to the community, on Friday, 15th March 2019 taken another lead role in helping out to salvage this problem as they rehabilitates Rogbaneh road, a road that is located at some parts of the heartbeat of the Makeni municipality in it central business area.

Speaking to this writer, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Robinson Sesay (Big Brother) revealed that: “Youth Build is a social enterprise organization that gives hopes to early school leavers through several skill trainings such as carpentry, machinery, and more.”

He further revealed that: “this road rehabilitation exercise is part of the course structure, which dictates for a Monthly community service exercise that is self sponsored from its meager profit maximized from the organization to be carried out in different communities in Bombali District.”

He concludes with emphasis that: “it is very challenging to undertake such project but it requires love, passion, and perseverance for the development of the country and that other groups, organizations, individuals should step up to give power to the youths like what Youth Build is doing, from it lobbying and commitments my organization have transformed many youths in society as a true case study for others to emulate.

Hawkers, traders, drivers, bike riders and other road users thanked and welcomed this gesture from Youth Build and have described the organization as one among the few youths empowerments and community development centered organization that has stand out tall, they revealed to this medium in an exclusive interview, when asked about their perception about Youth Build’s activities.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
