‼️PROSEC AND DISEC SAVES KONIMAKA CHIEFDOM FROM UNREST

The head of the Provincial and District Security Committees for North West Region Honorable Haja Isata Fatmata Abdulai Koroma, Resident Minister North West Region and team comprises of the Sierra Leone Police headed by Assistant Inspector General of Police, Ansumana Jorwulor Gbonnoh, Office of National Security and Civil Society on 18th May 2019 went to Kenema Trade center in the Konimaka Chiefdom, Kambia District  to embarked on mediation between the Paramount Chief PC Kanneh Kaba Seidu and his subjects.

According to report from PROSEC and DISEC the citizen of Konimaka Chiefdom in the Kambia District, alleged that their Paramount Chief PC Kanneh Kaba Seidu is notorious in the habit of using abusive language in public, disregarding the traditions and norms in the chiefdom and sometimes summoned his subjects to magistrate court if he is challenge by any individuals instead of going through the District Officer or Local Council chain as expected.

During mediation, the Hon Minister North West Mrs. Haja Isata Fatmata Abdulai Koroma said the rationale behind their presence in the chiefdom is to resolves the allegation in a peaceful manner and to put an end to any potential conflict as she believes all the allegation against the paramount chief has the tendency to create unrest in that chiefdom.

She therefore warned that the new direction government believes in the rule of law and that no one is above the law, on that note advised the paramount chief PC Seidu to be respecter of the law because the law is supreme.

In the area of Security, the Assistant Inspector General of Police North West, Ansumana Jorwulor Gbonnoh assured the people of their security, pointing out that the Sierra Leone Police mandate is to prevent, protect lives and properties.

He called on the paramount chief to work with his people as servant and not master because without his people he cannot become a paramount chief and that the will of the people must be accepted as Sierra Leone is a democratic country.

Sierra Leone, Two other Nations disqualified from AFCON 2024 U17 Qualifiers
