‼️TRADITIONAL LEADERS ASSURED AIG NORTH EAST IN THE FIGHT AGAINST ARMED ROBBERY

As a result of the clarion call of the Provincial Security Committee (PROSEC) in the fight against Armed robbery wherein Paramount Chiefs were summoned and charged with the responsibility to form community safety volunteers (CSVS) in their respective chiefdom to curb out criminal activities in the North East region, on the 18th May 2019, the paramount Chief of Bombali Sebore PC Bai Sebora Kansanga 11 including his traditional leaders presented screened youth to the Assistant Inspector General of Police North East Ambrose Sovula in order to compliment the police in combating criminal activities within the Makeni municipality.

On behalf of the chiefdom elders, Paramount Chief PC Kansanga 11 said he has consulted with his chiefdom elders in the fight against armed robbery and they all feel delighted to actively participate to combat armed robbery activities in their respective locality and therefore they have constituted a bye law with immediate effect that will help to destroy future plans of armed robbery within the municipality.

He added “if we work as a team, Makeni will not be used as a base”.

AIG Sovula disclosed that what the paramount chief and his traditional elders has done is part of community policing style in combating criminal activities within their respective locality and therefore warned the community safety volunteers to put Sierra Leone above all.

He concluded that in the fight against armed robbery, he has constituted the following measures for the protection of the Norms at Bumbuna and Mile 91 respectively due to a meeting held with the Catholic authorities in Makeni to shut down operations of their schools and hospitals until the security of their Missionaries is guaranteed.

Among the security issues put in place, to immediately provide armed security to all female religious sisters.

To increase robust patrols within those areas and other security threats areas for the protection of every individual residing in his operational area and also engaged in constant night patrol for all affected and prone communities.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
