BWB FC dominates the DANIEL SALIFU TOURNAMENT as they won it for the second time in their third appearance. They were crowned champions after picking up a solid 2-0 victory over Mabanta Stars in the grand final on Sunday, at the Mabanta community playing field.
The reigning champions (BWB foundation) demonstrated a good football performance against their opponent which earned them the victory and emerged as the better side, thanks to Alhaji Kanu, (man of the match) for opening the scoring for his side in the 22nd minute of play after making a great dribble pass the defender of Mabanta stars and struck in the ball with his left foot, and 7 minutes after the opener, his teammate Amadu W Jalloh netted the 2 goal.
Knowing what they wanted the BWB lads kept the match to their advantage, denying their opponent goal scoring chances to stamp a well deserved 2-0 win to clinch the trophy and the NLe 1,000 champions prize money. In addition to winning the title, BWB foundation FC's duo Emanuel Tholley (Party) and Amadu W Jalloh won the best Midfielder and best player of the tournament awards.
BWB FOUNDATION FC is a team with many young talented players. BWB FOUNDATION FC has also won the Barrie Under 14 tournament 2 months back unbeaten without conceding a single goal in that tournament, they have also reach the finals of the Beejay's Under 14 tournament in which they will face KOROMBO FC and this will be the second time both teams are meeting whare in their first encounter in 2021, KOROMBO FC eliminated BWB in the Semi final, this will give them chance to respond greatly in the final. The final is scheduled to play soon at the Wusum field in Makeni. BWB Foundation is an outstanding team that is highly regarded in Makeni municipality when it comes to youth football of that category.
