Aggrieved Workers Expose Pee Cee & Sons on Human Rights Violation

Over 15 aggrieved workers of a leading business enterprise in Makeni Pee Cee and Sons situated along Kojo Street in Makeni, Bombali District Northern Sierra Leone has in the early morning of yesterday, 19th June 2019 took to a peaceful demonstration against the Manager of Pee Cee and Sons Enterprise; DEEPERK Wagwanie.


Leaders of the aggrieved workers revealed to Northern Times that they unanimously agreed to embark on a peaceful seat down demonstration against the manager and the enterprise by extension for working with them for over 24-30 Months ago with no contract binding them and their employer, for over using them at work from 7am -3pm daily as the case may be, for the use of abusive languages against them on regular basis by the said Manager DEEPERK Wagwanie, for failing to provide safety gears for cold-room workers, for recent action meted against a  co-worker of theirs that was allegedly slapped by the Pee Cee & Sons Manager in Makeni DEEPERK Wagwanie some amongst the many reason that have led to demonstration they narrated.

They further revealed that as part of their demonstration plan, Shops and Gates of Pee Cee & Sons in Makeni are must not be opened be should remain closed down until their call and cries to the public and appropriate authorities for an urgent interventions to listen to and amicably settle their mass requests for better conditions of working Services they emphasized.

At around 8:45am to 11:58am a police team headed by the Head of Community Policing at the Rogbaneh Division Inspector Dao and other top ranked Police Officers in Makeni intervened promptly and engaged on a mediation discussion that comprises of the Manger of Pee Cee & Sons Makeni, his workers, and selected representatives of the aggrieved workers.

Both the Manager of Pee Cee and Sons Enterprise; DEEPERK Wagwanie and his Public Relations Officer have remained tight lipped to respond to the concerns raised by the workers who are dominantly law abiding Youthful Sierra Leoneans with a lot of potentials to build a more peaceful, progressive nation calling on fellow countrymen and Human Right Organisations to protect them from the shackles of  a set of Foreign Nationals who are seemingly violating the rights of these set of youths, beaching the country’s labor laws, boycotting NASSIT and other Employers-Employees related taxes that would had added more flesh to our beloved country’s consolidated revenue funds to help boost our nation’s economy.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District
