SLAJ 2021 Awards of Excellence: Awoko Awarded Best Newspaper of the year

At this year’s Sierra Leone of Journalists-(SLAJ) Black Tie Dinner hosted at the University of Makeni Auditorium on Friday night, Awoko Newspaper was named “Best Newspaper of the year 2021” during the presentation of Awards and certifications of journalists and institutions whose work stood out above all others.

On behalf of the management and staff, News Editor of Awoko Newspaper Alhaji Manika Kamara received the Award on the night amidst rousing applauds from the crowd.

In another development, three other staff of Awoko Newspaper namely Saffa Moriba, Abdul Rahman Koroma and Zainab Iyamide Joaque were also honored by SLAJ on the night.

Respectively, Saffa Moriba was certified for his dedication to his services and SLAJ while Abdul Rahman Koroma scooped two awards for his outstanding reports on Corruption and Gender issues while Zainab Iyamide Joaque scooped home one of the prestigious gongs from the SLAJ 2021 Media Excellence Awards for her top level report on Health.

Makeni Medical Mission Brings Hope and Healing to Bombali District

Sierra Leone, Two other Nations disqualified from AFCON 2024 U17 Qualifiers
