Makeni: 10 Bombali District teams lined up for 1st round 2023-FA Cup race preliminary

Two second division football teams namely Teddy and Urban FC and eight non division teams in Bombali District are set to race in the 2023-FA Cup preliminary round, in quest to earn the sole spot for the district.

The race which will also includes the following non division football clubs namely: Biriwa Stars, Smart Foundation, Koromabo, Ada Jay, United Elite, Valley Contractors, TKBAR and qualifiers returnees AZ-Foundation, who had earlier pullout, will officially commence at 4:15pm local time today at the Wusum Stadium in Makeni where Korombo FC will lock horns with Valley Contractors in the first of five knockout games scheduled to complete the District’s first round preliminary.


According to Adams Lilson Koroma the Public Relations Officer-2 of the Bombali District Football Association (BDFA), five winners of each of the knockout matches will progress to the second round of the preliminary where the district’s three 1st division teams namely: Bombali Shebora, Ocean Boys and Sahid Conteh-U Football will join the race until the champion emerge that will be representing the district in the regional qualifiers of the 2023-FA Cup.
