Statement by the SLAJ President Alhaji Manika Kamara at the One-Day Workshop on the Design of a Citizen Education Radio Program on the Tripartite Recommendations Greetings….. I am happy to be here at this important one-day workshop as part of our collective efforts to strengthen democratic governance, promote transparency, and ensure that the voices of citizens remain at the center of national development processes. The focus of this workshop is timely and necessary. As we all know, the recommendations of the Tripartite Committee speak directly to the future of our democracy, strengthening our institutions, and the deepening good governance practices in our country. SWASAL Slams Media Blackout on National Men's Top-tier

By: Alhaji A. Barrie   The Sierra Leone Premier League is facing a major setback after the Sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone (SWASAL) declared an indefinite media blackout.  This decision came after journalist Alusine Rehme Wilson was violently attacked by alleged Wusum Stars supporters while conducting post-match interviews in Makeni. Sponsors may pull out because their brands won’t be seen, and players will miss out on media attention that helps them get noticed by scouts and coaches.  “The Board’s inaction has emboldened perpetrators of violence against journalists,” SWASAL stated in their press release. Teams are als...
