Former Xamax Defender Umaro Zangalay Bangura says “he still has more to offer on and off the pitch”

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson  After donning the colors of Swiss second division side Neuchatel Xamax Football Club for 18 months, Former skipper of the Leone Stars Umaro Zangalay Bangura is now a free agent, effective Thursday, June 30, 2022. Since joining the club in January, 2021 Bangura represented his former club 31 times across all major tournaments, although his spell there had not let him accomplish all he wanted but the Sierra Leonean international defender who is now free to join any club, believes “he still has more to offer on and off the pitch.” Bangura is among the six players including Samuel Kasongo and Yannick who were loaned to Maladiere and two whose contracts with the Swiss side will not be extended following the end of their contracts with the club this summer, as was announced a week ago by the management of Neuchatel Xamax.

Ahead of WAFU-“A” U-15 Tourney, SLFA named 9-man Caretaker Technical Team

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson  To officially kickoff preparations for the upcoming West Africa Football Union-(WAFU) Zone-“A” U-15 tournament next month in Liberia, the Sierra Leone Football Association-(SLFA) has announced two SWASAL members Tejan Fredickson Fatorma and Mohamed Gassama, 7 others as caretaker technicial officials of the nation’s male U-15 team.  Their appointment was done by the SLFA Executive Committee on Thursday, 24th June, 2022 and all of the nine appointees have duly assumed their respective duties on the same date. Heavy rainfall, storm and Flooding in Makeni destroys scores of houses and properties

4 Suspects, Motorbikes Arrested in Makeni Fuel Hike Protest - Sierra Leone Police confirms

The four suspects currently in police nest were arrested by the Makeni Police patrol team which raided various streets namely:  Lunsar Road, Watson Street, Care Junction, Azzolini highway within and around the northeastern city’s Municipality, alleged to be among other fuel protesters including Bike Riders who used sticks and stones to barricade main roads while protesting over the week long scarcity of fuel and the unprecedented hike of the commodity price by black marketers from the routine cost of Le 20,000 to Le 40,000 and more per a liter. Kim FC, 5 others progress to BDFA U-15 Tournament Round of Six
