Bombali District Council Chairman commends people of Bombali

By: Alusine Rehme Wilson – (AR-WILSON)

The Chairman of the Bombali District Council John Shangai Koroma have commended the people of Bombali District for having abide strictly with full compliance during the three days national lockdown that was declared by His Excellency Retired Brigadier Julius Maada Bio as part of the measures government is instituting to fight against the trending global plague.

Mr. Koroma told Northern Times that this is one of the best compliance he has seen recently from his people and that has just fueled the flames of his council’s commitments and efforts from the media, health practitioners, ONS and other partners in development to continue to stand firm and continue to raise awareness on the preventive measures as recommended by WHO and the Government of Sierra Leone to ensure that the people of Bombali remain safe from contacting Covid19.

He added that: “Since March 13, I’ve been having restless moments putting strategies in place jointly with traditional leaders, Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs, ONS, the Makeni City Council, the District Health Management Officer, Foday Sesay and his team to prove to the people of Bombali District that my leadership is not limited to seating on an arm chair.”
Monitoring mounted by Northern Times during the 72 hours lockdown shows that the compliance from the people of Makeni did not only limited them from rendering the efforts of a joint security force of Military men and police officers dormant but also saw them staying at home completely, with their shops and other business centers closed including private hospitals operations shutdown throughout the three days, no wonder the Chairman of the Bombali District Council commended them for such compliance.
