PRESIDENT BIO TO CONTEST FOR PARAMOUNT CHIEFTAINCY

By: Sahr J. Bangah✍️
During the President Campaigned tour in Makeni, President Bio told Paramount Kasangha II of Bombali Sebore Chiefdom that he will be the first President in Sierra Leone to run for paramount Chieftaincy election after he has retire as President of Sierra Leone.

During a courtesy call Visit at the Paramount Chief Kasangha resident in Makeni, President Bio said that he comes from a traditional ruling house and that he believes Paramount Chiefs and traditional leaders should be given the respect it deserve rather than politicizing their institutions.

Without out hesitation, President Bio smile and said to add more respect, “ I will be the first retired president to run for chieftaincy Election in Sierra Leone” and on that note he called on Paramount Chief PC Kasangha 11 and his colleague paramount chiefs to support his new direction.

The Northern Times believes, if President Bio is to achieve this said desired. The council of Paramount Chiefs as recommended in the Constitutional Review Commission (CRC) that was deliberately ignored by President Koroma government should be high considered rather than having Paramount chiefs in parliament to act as political campaign managers in compromising wrong decision through their parliamentary votes in favor of the ruling government.
